The Local News Map

Turn on/off markers that display changes to community newpapers (published fewer than five times per week) as well as paid-circulation and free daily newspapers. Symbols on the markers indicate the launch/closure of a publication, reductions/increases in publication frequency or the transition from print to online-only publication.

Flin Flon Reminder


The Local News Map

The independent Flin Flon Reminder was a daily paper but reduced publication to three times a week as of April 29th 2005. In August 2015, the paper started publishing twice a week.

Lindsay Post


The Local News Map

The Quebecor-owned Lindsay Post ceased publication in 2013. At the time of closure it appeared twice per week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Back in May 2007, when the paper was owned by Osprey Media, the paper changed its name from The Daily Post to The Lindsay Post to reflect its change from publishing Monday to Friday to Tuesdays and Fridays.
